Life-Saving Dental Surgery for Luna

Jun 13, 2022

Luna is eating again thanks to supporters like YOU! Today, we want to share a story about a family you helped through The Arizona Pet Project!

Marta contracted COVID and soon after lost her job taking time off from work because she was very ill. With no income, she quickly spent her savings to cover the basic living costs for herself and her dog, Luna. The stress of trying to make ends meet was bad enough – and then, things got worse.

Luna, Marta’s 8-year-old dog suddenly stopped eating.

Pet parents can often sense when something is wrong, and Marta knew right away that Luna was unwell. She immediately began making phone calls to try to get Luna the medical attention she needed. Thankfully, Marta’s friends and family had heard about The Arizona Pet Project and told her to reach out to us.

As soon as we heard from Marta, our team jumped into action to get Luna an appointment at one of our partner veterinary clinics to diagnose what was wrong and get her the veterinary care she so desperately needed.

Because of supporters like YOU, The Arizona Pet Project covered the costs needed to diagnose and treat Luna.

Quote reads "Thank you so much for taking care of my dog! I know it has been tough with COVID, but your help allows me to give Luna the treatment she needs."

The veterinary team determined several of Luna’s teeth would need to be removed, and thanks to donors like you, Luna received the life-saving dental surgery she needed so that she could heal and begin eating again! Marta wanted us to tell you “thank you so much for taking care of my dog! I know it has been tough with COVID, but your help allows me to give Luna the treatment she needs.”

Each time you support The Arizona Pet Project, you extend a helping hand to a family and their beloved pet in times of crisis. Your compassion helps keep pets in our community happy, healthy, and out of shelters! THANK YOU!
