The Arizona Pet Project Receives $40,000 Grant from AZDVS

Apr 18, 2024

Funded in part by the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services as made available through the Arizona Veterans’ Donation Fund, we’ve received a $40,000 grant from AZDVS that enables our social workers to connect Arizona veterans with services needed to ensure they can access shelter, housing, healthcare, and access to veterinary care, pet food, and supplies for their service, emotional support, and companion animals.

With courage, selflessness, and dedication to serving our country and protecting our freedoms as Americans, the veterans in our community often need our support beyond how the Arizona Department of Veterans Services can help. Through AZDVS’ mission, they are addressing the evolving needs of Arizona’s veterans and their families, including providing care for their beloved cats and dogs when they need it most!

Having spent years collaborating with The Arizona Department of Veterans Services and supporting our veterans, The Arizona Pet Project was the perfect fit for this $40,000 grant that will provide services to veterans with pets across our great state through our programs!

Despite the documented benefits pets have on the physical and mental health of veterans, too often, veterans in our community are facing medical expenses and housing requirements that are forcing them to choose between their own needs or staying together with their animals.

And no one should ever have to make that choice. Thanks to this generous grant, fewer veterans will have to.

When you support The Arizona Pet Project, you are extending a helping hand to pet families in our community when they need it most—including our veterans just like Jerry and his dog, Max (tap here to read their story!)

Thank you for joining us in our mission to keep families together with their pets!
