The Arizona Pet Project Has Partnered with Besty BnB

To meet the urgent and growing need for crisis pet foster care in Arizona, The Arizona Pet Project is proud to announce its partnership with BestyBnB, a pioneering technology platform that pairs qualified community members to pets in need. With 70% of domestic violence survivors delaying escape if they can’t bring their pets, and shelters often unable to accommodate animals, this partnership aims to prevent individuals from being forced to choose between personal safety and their pet’s well-being.

For nearly a decade, The Arizona Pet Project has witnessed how deeply people in crisis prioritize their pets—frequently to their own detriment. This includes delaying medical treatment, enduring homelessness longer, or forgoing vital mental health or substance use care.

BestyBnB’s platform connects trained and vetted community members to pets in need, streamlining the foster process while protecting caregivers, pets, and owners.

To kick off the program, The Arizona Pet Project is launching the Pet Caregiver Community Challenge, aiming to recruit at least 25 new foster caregivers by October 1, 2025. Foster caregivers can receive a modest nightly stipend, offering an opportunity for those in the gig economy to make a meaningful impact.
