The Arizona Pet Project Aids Arizona’s Veterans

On this Veterans Day, we pause to honor the people who served our country. We’re reminded of the sacrifices made and the loved ones who stood by their side–including their loyal pets.

At The Arizona Pet Project, we’re proud to support Arizona’s veteran community, where an estimated 22,000 low-income veterans rely on their pets for companionship, assistance, and comfort.

Meet David Salmeron

David is a veteran on a fixed income who reached out for help after falling on hard times after he heard about us from the VA. 

After learning that David was having trouble affording necessities, our social worker provided them with plenty of dog food and peace of mind. 

This Veterans Day, we’re shining a light on the importance of supporting our veterans and their pets. It’s a sad reality that despite what they have done for our country, veterans face financial challenges and homelessness at higher rates than non-veterans. For many, their pets provide crucial emotional support. With your help, we can provide: 

• Temporary boarding
• Housing requirement assistance (spay/neuter, licensing, vaccines, pet deposits)
• Sick and injured veterinary care
• Pet food assistance and supplies
• Training for Emotional Support Animals
