Oftentimes, people surrender their pet due to a lack of financial resources. Many owners love and want to keep their pet, but simply don’t have access to the help they so desperately need, which leads to heartbreaking decisions.
Meet T.I. who came in to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control with his owner, Hazel, who could not afford the bladder stone removal surgery he desperately needed. With no resources at hand and not wanting to see T.I. suffer, Hazel thought her only option was to surrender him in the hopes they would be able to help him. Fortunately, we were able to intervene and connect Hazel with one of our local vet partners, where he received the care required to get him back on his feet. T.I. is now healed, healthy, and back at home with the family who loves him.
And it’s all thanks to donors and supporters, like you, who believe the best way to reduce euthanasia is by preventing animals from ending up in shelters in the first place.
